DUE POESIE SULL' AUTUNNO NEL CHIANTI DI LEONARDO MANETTI TRADOTTE IN INGLESE DA ASSUNTA FRANCO
Vino
Un paesaggio nato
dal sudore
si alterna a
fitti boschi,
taciturne braccia
di sacrifici
offrono colori e
detti.
Armoniose, su
file vicine,
viti distese
dall'uomo:
un frutto
chiamato uva,
meraviglia
quando diventa vino.
Nasce sotto il
cielo,
cresce dentro un
tino,
tu giochi se lo
bevi
canti e danzi mentre piove.
Wine
A landscape created with
sweat
interchanges with thick
forests;
taciturn sacrifice hands
offer colours and sayings.
In
harmony, on close lines,
vines
spread out by man:
a
fruit named grape,
astonishment
when it turns wine.
It
sprouts under the sky,
grows
up into vats,
if
you drink it, you will have fun,
you
will sing and dance in the rain.
Autunno
Olivi a palmetta
chi a cespuglio
altri a quercia.
La rugiada è
sulle foglie
io a bruzzico ad
aspettar
il giorno sulla
scala.
Brucano le mani
con tintinnii
lievi
frutti appesi a
peduncoli.
Reti disperse
e vasi pesanti
ospitano fresche
olive.
Oro verde al
frantoio
fine al palato
prezioso ai sensi.
Autumn
Espaliered
olive trees
some
as a shrub
some
like oaks.
Dew
is on the leaves
I am
on the ladder at dawn
waiting
for the day to come.
With
smooth jingling
hands
graze
fruits
hung on peduncles.
Scattered
nets
and
heavy vases
house
fresh olives.
Green
gold in the olive oil mill
refined
on the palate
precious
to the senses.
